Motor Vehicle & Licensing

  • How do I register my vehicle?

    Come to the Treasurer’s Office in the Courthouse during business hours and someone will assist you in registering your vehicle.

    Can I register my vehicle online?

    Not completely, but the State of Montana has an online database of forms that you can print off, fill out, and turn in or mail in.

  • How do I renew/instate my drivers license?

    You can schedule an appointment at any drivers license stations in the state using this website. The renewal/instatement process will be taken care of at the appointment.

    What is Real ID?

    REAL ID is an addition on to your drivers license or ID that is an accepted form of Federal ID, Montana Motor Vehicle has a great website to explain in more detail.

Taxes

  • Real Estate Taxes are split in half and have two separate due dates; November 30th and May 31st

  • Mobile Home taxes are split in half and have two separate due dates; May 31st and November 30th

  • Personal taxes are due on June 30th.

  • You can search for your current tax bill payment by using Web Tax

  • Yes! You can pay with either a debit or credit card by using GovTeller. There is a 2.49% convenience fee in addition to payment that is charged by 3rd party vendor.
